A 30-day AI readiness plan for a two-person marketing team
12 August 2026 9 min read

Most readiness advice assumes an engineering team on standby. This plan assumes two marketers, CMS access, and roughly half a day a week. The order matters more than the effort: technical foundations first, because content improvements on an unreadable site do nothing.
Week 1 — measure and unblock
Establish the baseline and remove anything stopping machines reading you.
- Grade the site and screenshot the score so you can prove movement later.
- Check robots.txt for AI crawler blocks and fix them.
- Confirm every key page renders its main copy in server HTML.
- Fix any accidental noindex tags and broken canonicals.
Week 2 — identity and structure
Make it impossible to misidentify you.
- Publish Organization and WebSite schema with your exact legal and trading names.
- Write or rewrite the about page so it states what you do in one sentence.
- Add llms.txt and a clean sitemap.xml.
- Give every page a unique title and description that names the thing, not the feeling.
Week 3 — answers
Turn sales questions into extractable page content.
- List the twelve questions your sales inbox actually receives.
- Answer each one in 40 words at the top of a relevant page.
- Add FAQ schema mirroring that exact wording.
- Publish real pricing, even as a range.
Week 4 — footprint and monitoring
Push on the part you can't fix on your own site.
- Write one comparison page against the rival you lose to most.
- Claim and complete three relevant directory listings.
- Set weekly re-grading and a rival benchmark so drift is visible.
- Re-grade and compare against week 1.
